MIRPUR: The preparations finalized for the second and third phases of the Local Government Elections in Poonch and Mirpur Divisions of Azad Kashmir on 3 and 8 December.
The LG election is being held in three phases under the the auspices of Azad Jammu Kashmir Election Commission. Election was held in the first phase in Muzaffarabad on 27 November.
Raja Muhammad Farooq Niaz, a senior member of the AJK Election Commission told APP that preparations have been completed for the local bodies election after a long break of over three decades.
1,232,079 voters registered in three AJK districts
In the three districts of Mirpur Division: Kotli, Mirpur and Bhimber, 1,232,079 voters are registered. The Kotli district has 563,016, Mirpur 366,043 and Mirpur 303,020 voters.
Raja Farooq said that 1,026 polling stations were being prepared in Kotlii, 538 in Bhimbher and 625 in the district of Mirpur.
The polling will start on 8:00 a.m. and with continue till 5: p.m. without a break. –APP
