MIRPUR (Azad Kashmir): Azad Jammu Kashmir Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has said that the government has chalked out a comprehensive Youth Policy where educated youth can get loans to establish their business.
He said that loans worth fifty crore rupees would be provided through TEVTA and Akhuwat Foundation.
Addressing the Youth Summit organized by the Department of Sports, Youth, and Culture in the State metropolis late yesterday, the PM emphasised the government’s dedication to meeting the expectations of the people, adopting a people-centric approach to effectively serve the masses.
Referring to the various initiatives undertaken by the coalition government in recent months, he said that a positive change on the ground would be felt soon.
Additionally, he revealed the establishment of a state endowment fund amounting to 5 billion rupees. This fund is intended to support orphans, disabled individuals, widows/divorced women, and senior citizens. Under this scheme, the Prime Minister explained that a sum of 20 thousand rupees would be directly provided to those in need through easy-paisa accounts.
During the summit, Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq inspected stalls set up by various departments. The event was attended by Senior Minister Colonel (r) Waqar Ahmad Noor, Sports Minister Asim Sharif Butt, Javed Iqbal Badhanvi, Secretaries, Heads of Departments, university students, and other dignitaries.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Benazir Income Support Program, Dr. Muhammad Amjad Saqib, briefed the AJK Prime Minister on the current poverty rate in the country and the government’s efforts to alleviate poverty. Dr. Saqib informed the Prime Minister that the Benazir Income Support Program is providing financial assistance to more than 100,000 deserving families. —APP
