MIRPUR: Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) former Prime Minister Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan on Saturday said that the strong desire of foreign workers to support Pakistan’s economy must be combined with the country’s planning and implementation system for the economy.

He was giving a briefing to the youth and political delegation that had come to his home in Mujahid Manzil on Saturday to congratulate him on a job well done on his 10-day public interactive tour throughout the United Arab Emirates.

“Our national economic planners should ensure a greater working role for overseas workers in Pakistan’s economic planning and execution processes”, he continued. He also suggested the establishment of economic council comprising these workers and investors.

Overseas Key to Pakistan’s Economic Growth

He highlighted the enthusiasm among Pakistani and Kashmiri manpower abroad to contribute to the nation’s economic prosperity, emphasizing the need to capitalize on their willingness.

Addressing the concerning issue of escalating anti-Kashmir sentiments and atrocities committed by India in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Khan highlighted the international awareness regarding India’s malicious intentions in the region.

He reiterated that India’s presence in Kashmir is illegal under UN resolutions and described India as an occupier in the region. Khan condemned India’s actions, including its efforts to alter the demographic composition of Kashmir through its military presence and resource exploitation.

Despite India’s oppressive measures, Khan emphasized the resilience of Kashmiris in their pursuit of self-determination rights. He criticized India for depriving Kashmiris of their economic and political rights while exploiting the state’s resources. Khan questioned India’s legitimacy to remain in Jammu and Kashmir under such hostile circumstances.
