A military statement said that the strike hit areas in the neighborhood of Homs, resulting only in material harm. However, Reuters reported that it could not immediately confirm the development.
Israeli army officials have not yet issued any statement, but an Israeli army spokesperson claimed earlier via social media that an anti-aircraft missile launched from Syria toward Israel detonated in mid-air.
Reuters stated that it could not immediately confirm the news and also it was not clear whether or not the two developments were linked. Israel has in recent days intensified its strikes on Syrian air bases and airports.
