ISLAMABAD: Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, urged authorities on Friday to create a conducive environment for teaching and research.
In his address to the Academic Staff Association (ASA) of AIOU, the VC stated his desire to provide better development opportunities for university employees and further improve the university system. He promised to collaborate for the institution’s growth and to take every possible measure to ensure the welfare of AIOU employees. The primary goal of this general body meeting was to inform the Vice Chancellor of the teachers’ problems.
AIOU’s faculty problems
Speaking at the event, President ASA, Dr. Moinuddin Hashmi, asked VC AIOU to publish an advertisement for faculty promotions and to review the faculty development program, faculty workload, research grant, and transportation policy. The VC promised to seek approval from the University’s Supreme Body (Executive Council) to immediately resolve the demands while instructing the ASA to review the ongoing projects and develop a workable solution
