AIOU Sets Up Facilitation-Cum-Call Centre

Allama Iqbal Open University on Monday set up a facilitation center and a state-of-the-art call centre to facilitate students.

The facilitation centre aims to tend to education-related issues being faced by students under one roof. The facilitation centre will address campus-related issues whereas the call centre will listen to the issues being faced by the students in remote areas.

The call centre having 35 cabins for incoming calls will provide the required information to the students of remote areas. QAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Zia-ul-Qayum inaugurated the centre.

The AIOU vice-chancellor said: “Students are our asset and facilitating them is our priority. After the digitalization of the university, the establishment of the call centre is our second milestone, which we achieved successfully”.

He advised the staff of both centres to be humble and respectful while talking to the students and address their issues in one day after they lodge their complaint. He also directed the in charge of the facilitation center to present a weekly report to the vice-chancellor’s office.

The AIOU vice-chancellor also reviewed the facilities at the centre. The facilitation center has three counters for students’ advisory, one counter each for sorting out matters related to workshops, tutors, admissions, examinations, fees and books. The centre also has a seating capacity for 130 students.
