ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan was committed to ensuring peace with all countries, but that it was also concerned about securing its borders.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said this in a tweet as the country celebrated ‘Surprise Day’ while the country strives for peace and added it is also aware of its obligation to defend the country.

The day marked the fourth anniversary of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shooting down two Indian fighter jets for violating Pakistan’s airspace. One of the Indian pilots was apprehended but later released as a peace gesture to New Delhi.

Pakistan “mindful” of its defence, Prime Minister

The prime minister stated that the nation today pays rich tribute to the Pakistan Air Force for a fitting response to India’s violation of Pakistan’s air space under the guise of a false flag Pulwama attack. “Let no one make any mistake about it,” he said, emphasizing that Pakistan was “mindful” of its defence.
