GAZA: Aid Trucks have finally reached northern areas of the besieged Gaza Strip that have been without assistance for four months, Palestinian media reported on Sunday. The arrival of a convoy of 12 trucks, carrying flour and supplies, comes at a critical time when famine threatens the Palestinian enclave. Meanwhile, truce talks between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas are set to resume in Qatar.

The trucks, distributed by the “Popular Committees,” reached Gaza City, the Jabalia refugee camp, and the northernmost areas of Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun.

Looming Famine in Gaza Amid Israeli Bombardment

International aid agencies have sounded the alarm about the hunger crisis in Gaza, with reports of Palestinian children dying from malnutrition and dehydration. The dire situation has intensified pressure on Israel, which has been conducting a ground and air campaign in Gaza for over five months.

Amidst this backdrop, an Israeli strike overnight killed 12 people in Deir al-Balah, further exacerbating the humanitarian crisis. Despite warnings from Western allies, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved plans for an assault on Rafah, the last relatively safe place for Palestinian civilians in Gaza.

Meanwhile, truce talks in Qatar are set to resume, with Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency joining the delegation. Hamas has presented a new ceasefire proposal, including an exchange of hostages and prisoners. While Netanyahu has expressed skepticism about the proposal, mediators expect positive developments and believe that an agreement may be within reach.
