More than just a digital technology, it serves as a living pulse at the heart of the two holy mosques, ensuring the safety of pilgrims and facilitating their worship with serenity and reverence. It also reflects a national vision that anticipates the future and upholds the individual’s dignity, the SPA reported.
Developed by the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, the Baseer platform extends the Kingdom’s vision of leveraging modern technology to serve humanity, according to the SPA.
It has played a vital role in enabling authorities to promptly locate missing individuals—both adults and children—and guide their families to them, significantly reducing search times and restoring peace of mind to pilgrims and worshippers.
Baseer’s contributions extend beyond locating missing persons. The platform has supported crowd management within the two holy mosques, helping reduce congestion during peak times and ensuring smooth movement in corridors and courtyards.
The highest standards of safety
This has allowed worshippers to perform their prayers in a calm and safe environment, free from overcrowding or jostling, while upholding the highest standards of safety and care, the SPA added.
The platform has also enabled relevant authorities to perform their duties efficiently through AI-powered computer vision technologies, allowing them to anticipate potential incidents, allocate resources in real time, and make precise decisions that support pilgrims’ safety, the SPA reported.
This achievement reflects a unique model of integration between technology and human-centered service. Baseer has evolved from a digital platform into an effective tool facilitating the spiritual journey and ensuring a safe environment that respects the sanctity of the place and the spirituality of the time.
