MAKKAH:  The Saudi Presidency for Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched the second edition of the ‘Manarat Al-Haramain Robot’ at the Grand Mosque to enhance the spiritual experience of pilgrims.

The AI-powered robot acts as an intelligent reference for religious inquiries, offering direct video calls with muftis for unanswered questions, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported on Wednesday.

Inspired by Islamic motifs, the upgraded robot embodies the architectural beauty of the Two Holy Mosques.

Combining authenticity with modernity, it integrates advanced technology and elegant design to enhance the pilgrim experience by offering seamless access to information.

Meanwhile, the Presidency of Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has launched a new initiative aimed at simplifying Islamic sciences for the pilgrims during the Hajj season.

The initiative offers a range of scientific and educational materials designed to meet the needs of pilgrims and Umrah performers seeking Islamic knowledge across various fields.

These resources are presented through informative booklets and engaging educational slides, and are translated into multiple languages to enrich pilgrims’ religious understanding.

The initiative also aims to deliver the spiritual and educational message of the Two Holy Mosques to a global audience.

It focuses on interpreting the meanings of the Holy Quran, promoting a correct understanding of Islam and its core beliefs, and providing guidance on religious rulings.

On Tuesday, Saudi Minister of Transport and Logistics Services Saleh Al-Jasser reviewed the readiness of the transport and logistics sector for the Hajj season in Jeddah, following earlier inspection tours in Makkah, Madinah, and the holy sites.

At King Abdulaziz International Airport, he conducted an inspection of the Hajj Terminal Complex and the Saudia Airlines operations building to evaluate preparations for managing over 7,000 pilgrim flights and ensuring smooth passenger flow.

He also visited the complex’s media centre, which plays a key role in supporting press coverage throughout the Hajj season.

This year, the annual pilgrimage is expected to take place in June. While the exact number of pilgrims for Hajj 2025 is yet to be confirmed, early projections indicate it could be a record-breaking year, with more than 2.5 million pilgrims expected to participate.
