LAHORE: Pakistani cricketer Ahmad Shahzad has announced to quit the Pakistan Super League (PSL) next edition due to continuous neglect in the draft of players, local media reported on Friday.

Drafts for the ninth edition of PSL were held two days ago in Lahore, in which teams picked players for the next season, but Shehzad was not picked by any PSL team.

In a statement via social media Shehzad said that he had thought that he would not write this note in the current year.

He added that he has consistently worked hard to play well in domestic cricket, played well in the national T20 before the Pakistan Super League draft. He said that there has been a deliberate effort to keep him out.

Shahzad further said that he quit Pakistan Super League for his self-respect and will not play in the PSL again with these six teams.
