According to sources, Rashid’s second wife is of Afghan origin and currently lives abroad. His first marriage took place in October 2024 to his maternal cousin in Kabul.
The announcement followed days of online speculation after Rashid was seen with a woman at a welfare event in the Netherlands. Photos from the event went viral, with fans questioning the nature of their relationship.
Addressing the rumours, Rashid wrote: “It’s unfortunate to see assumptions being made from something so simple. The truth is straightforward — she is my wife, and we stand together with nothing to hide.”
While the cricketer confirmed the marriage, he did not comment on details about his new wife or clarify whether it was his first or second marriage, further fuelling discussions online.
Social media users have flooded the post with messages of congratulations and curiosity about the player’s personal life.
Rashid Khan, widely regarded as one of the world’s best leg-spinners, has long kept his private life away from public attention.
He captained Afghanistan’s national team and has played in major international T20 leagues, including the Indian Premier League and the Big Bash League.
