KABUL: The spokesperson for Afghanistan’s interim administration, Zabihullah Mujahid, has reiterated Afghanistan’s commitment to not allowing its territory to be used against any country. He emphasized that the Taliban administration is actively assisting Pakistan in matters related to security to the best of its capabilities.

On Sunday, Afghanistan’s national television broadcasted an audio clip featuring Zabihullah Mujahid’s remarks, during which he elaborated on Afghanistan’s policy regarding security cooperation with Pakistan.

Mujahid underscored that Afghanistan remains steadfast in its commitment to not permit its territory to be utilized against any foreign nation.

Pakistan Concern Over Presence of Terrorists in Afghanistan

This situation arises in the context of Pakistani authorities expressing concerns about the presence and activities of terrorists operating from Afghan territory. Pakistani officials have specifically highlighted their apprehensions regarding attacks launched from Afghanistan by groups such as Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and other militant factions, which pose significant security challenges to Pakistan.

Previously, Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar had sought assistance from the Taliban administration. He requested their cooperation in preventing attacks by groups like ISIS and Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) from targeting Pakistan.

The appeal from Pakistan’s interim Prime Minister underscores the importance of collaborative efforts between the two neighboring countries to counter the threat of terrorism and uphold regional stability. Both nations share a common interest in addressing security challenges and maintaining peace in the region.
