KABUL: The National Statistics and Information Authority (NSIA) of Afghanistan said more than 2.5 million national electronic identity cards had been distributed to Afghan citizens last year.
Since the interim Taliban government came to power in Kabul in August 2021, electronic IDs, which are known as the Tazkira in Afghanistan, have been distributed to more than 4.6 million citizens, the state media quoted the authority as saying on Wednesday.
