Afghanistan Greenlights 25 Projects Worth 6 Billion Afghanis

KABUL: The National Procurement Commission (NPC) of Afghanistan has given its approval for 25 projects with a combined estimated value of around 6 billion Afghanis.

In a regular session held on Sunday at Marmarin Palace, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar Akhund, the NPC conducted a comprehensive review and discussion of the projects on the agenda.

During the session, a total of 28 projects were presented for deliberation, and 25 of them were granted the go-ahead for implementation, marking significant progress in this regard. Unfortunately, one contract was canceled, and two others were recommended for thorough reassessment.

Development Projects in Afghanistan

The approved projects span various sectors, encompassing entities such as the Prime Minister’s Protection Department, the Ministries of National Defense, Higher Education, Public Works, Rural Rehabilitation and Development, the Afghan Millie Bank, and Kabul Municipality.

In total, these projects represent an estimated value of approximately 6 billion Afghanis. At the conclusion of the session, specific directives were issued to the relevant sector ministries and agencies, emphasizing the importance of timely submission of future projects for consideration and approval by the National Procurement Commission.
