KABUL: The spokesman for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Zabiullah Mujahid, has vehemently rejected the latest report published by the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), describing it as far from the truth and motivated by ulterior motives.
In a statement, Mujahid expressed his discontent with the UNAMA report, which presented a range of disappointments, grievances, and complaints. He dismissed the report’s credibility, asserting that it relied on the testimonies of individuals who had fled the country and were now engaging in anti-Afghanistan propaganda instead of participating in military operations.
UNNAMA Alleged of False Propaganda Against Afghanistan
Mujahid further alleged that certain members within the UNAMA organization were misusing the name of the institution by disseminating false information and engaging in a deliberate campaign to tarnish Afghanistan’s reputation.
Contrary to the UNAMA report’s claims, Mujahid maintained that security was being adequately maintained throughout Afghanistan. He refuted allegations of arbitrary killings, arrests, or attacks on religious minorities, asserting that such incidents were being effectively prevented. He emphasized that the country’s security forces were tirelessly engaged in safeguarding the populace day and night. The courts of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, he added, were committed to upholding and protecting the legitimate rights of the Afghan people. Additionally, civil services were operating smoothly, with individuals coming together for the betterment of the nation.
Mujahid condemned the dissemination of negative reports amid such a positive and promising situation, deeming them malicious and calling for an end to such actions.
While the UNAMA report has raised concerns about the situation in Afghanistan, the Islamic Emirate’s spokesman has firmly denied its accuracy, suggesting that it misrepresents the true state of affairs in the country. The differing narratives present a challenge in understanding the ground realities and ensuring transparency in reporting on the ongoing developments in Afghanistan.
