KABUL: The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s Ministry of National Defense has issued a strong rebuttal to recent comments by the US Embassy in Uzbekistan concerning Afghanistan’s military aircrafts and helicopters currently in Uzbekistan.
In an official statement, the Defense Ministry declared that any negotiations or decisions regarding the Afghan aircraft and helicopters are entirely unacceptable. The Ministry emphasized that the US has no legal authority to seize or transfer Afghan military assets.
Furthermore, the Defense Ministry urged the Uzbek government to refrain from engaging in any transactions or deals involving these Afghan air assets.
The statement called on Uzbekistan to uphold principles of good neighborliness and to cooperate in returning Afghanistan’s aircraft and helicopters currently held in Uzbekistan.
