KABUL: Afghanistan government on Monday claimed a foreign member of the banned Islamic State (IS) terrorist group had been arrested for alleged involvement in the firing attack on Pakistan’s Embassy in Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan.
While speaking at a press conference in Kabul, Afghan Taliban Spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said that foreign hands were involved in Pakistan’s Embassy attack in Kabul.
IS Members and rebels jointly planned the embassy attack
“The investigation into the incident revealed that the attack was jointly planned by rebels and IS,” the Taliban spokesman revealed.
Zabihullah Mujahid claimed that some evil foreign powers were behind the attack, and the objective was to create distrust between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the two brotherly countries.
Pakistan’s Head Mission, Obaidur Rehman, survived the attack, while a security guard was injured.
Afghanistan condemns embassy attack
Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had received a call from the acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi following the terrorist attack on the Pakistani embassy in Kabul.
The Foreign Minister of Afghanistan strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting Pakistan’s Chief of Staff in Kabul, Ubaid-ur-Rehman Nizamani.
Reiterating Afghanistan’s firm resolve to fight the menace of terrorism, Acting Foreign Minister Muttaqi has assured Foreign Minister Bilawal that the Afghan government member will swiftly bring those responsible for this heinous attack to justice.
The Afghan Foreign Minister also sent his best wishes and prayers for the speedy recovery of Sepoy Israr Mohammad who was deputed at Pakistan’s mission office in Kabul and got injured.
Bilawal Bhutto thanked the interim Afghan government member for its strong show of solidarity and stressed that the safety and security of Pakistan’s embassy in Afghanistan are of utmost importance.
The Afghan government will prevent terrorists from harming the relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The foreign minister Bilawal Bhutto also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to fight terrorism and said such terror attacks will not deter Pakistan.
