Afghan Taliban Delegation Arrives in Iran to Attend 37th International Islamic Unity Conference

TEHRAN: A four-member delegation of Afghan Taliban officials has arrived in Iran to participate in the 37th International Islamic Unity Conference (IIUC), announced Iran’s embassy in Afghanistan. The delegation’s visit is aimed at contributing to discussions on the unity of the world’s Muslims during the event.

Scheduled to take place from October 1 to 3, 2023, the International Islamic Unity Conference serves as a platform to foster unity and solidarity among Muslims. It seeks to develop consensus among scholars and scientists, aligning their scientific and cultural viewpoints, and presenting practical solutions to achieve Islamic unity and a unified Islamic Ummah in the Islamic World. The conference also focuses on addressing the problems faced by Muslims globally and offering viable solutions.

Guests at the conference include elites and educated figures, ministers from Muslim countries, scholars, muftis, university professors, and representatives from various academic and cultural communities within and outside the country. Over the years, the conference has attracted hundreds of thinkers, scholars, and reformers from around the world.
