ISLAMABAD: There is a need for collective efforts to make the West honour their commitments to Afghan refugees as Pakistan is striving to repatriate illegal foreigners with dignity.

The US shared a list of 25,000 Afghans with Pakistan requesting it not to deport them as they may face retribution. It goes without saying that Pakistan’s actions on illegal migrants have highlighted shared responsibility of nations towards Afghan refugees, urging the West to fulfil their commitments on the subject.

Pakistan has earlier collaborated with UK govt to transport approximately 2000 “Specific” Afghan refugees to London via 12 special flights under ‘resettlement’ scheme. Pakistan upholds its resolve of assisting Afghan citizens, regional stability and humanitarian principles.

Through active participation in transportation of Afghan migrants, Pakistan maintains its generosity in facilitating their journey to find new homes and opportunities.

As a neighbour to Afghanistan, Pakistan has consistently opened its borders and provided shelter to Afghan refugees for decades, showcasing its unwavering support for displaced individuals, according to the experts.
