PESHAWAR: Consul General of Afghanistan in Peshawar Hafiz Muhibullah on Monday called Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali at the Governor House and expressed resolve to improve bilateral trade ties further.
The Afghan envoy congratulated the Governor on assuming the constitutional responsibility. He hoped Ghulam Ali would remove the obstacles in furthering bilateral trade relations between the two countries.
The Afghan Consul General informed Ghulam Ali about bilateral trade and issues of bilateral interest. The KP Governor said he would make collective efforts to promote bilateral ties and commercial activities and, in some cases, discuss at the federal level to eliminate problems and obstacles.
Trade ties between Pakistan and Afghanistan
In the meeting, the regional security situation and bilateral trade through the Angor Adda and Torkham border were also discussed. They also held a detailed discussion regarding more facilities for the people of both countries.
KP Governor Ghulam Ali said Afghanistan and Pakistan are brotherly neighboring countries with common values and traditions. He said he belonged to the business community and knew how vital trade was for any country.
Ghulam Ali said that peace and stability in the region were indispensable for promoting trade, which required collective efforts. Afghan Consul General lauded the broad thinking and vision of the KP Governor in solving the problems faced by the business community of both countries.
