NEW YORK: American actress Indya Moore was taken into custody by the police at New York City’s Grand Central Terminal for taking part into pro-Palestine protest, Westren media reported on Sunday.
The protest was organized by Jewish Voice for Peace, a Jewish group advocating for pro-Palestine causes.
When police officers arrested Indya Moore, the protestors did not resist and continued to express their support for Palestine by saying, “Let Gaza live.” A video in this regard was also shared on social media platform X, formerly twitter showing Indya protesting for the people of Gaza, as the police detain her along with other protestors.
The actress had previously in a call on social media, asked people to join the protest and raise their voices for the war-hit people of Gaza.
Fates of Palestinians, Israelis linked together
She said that the fates of Palestinians and Israelis are linked together and that true safety can only come from equality, freedom and justice for all.
Earlier Indya Moore, Andrew Garfield, Florence Pugh, Oscar Isaac, and Joaquin Phoenix, were among the celebrities who signed a letter to the president of the United States Joe Biden, in which they asked him to takes practical steps for a ceasefire in Gaza and put a stop to the violence.
