ISLAMABAD: Pakistani famous actor Imran Abbas has responded to accusations of falsehood regarding his claims of receiving offers from Bollywood. The actor had previously claimed rejecting roles in movies like Aashiqui 2 and Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela. Additionally, he stated that he was offered a part in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series, Heeramandi. However, his assertions were met with scepticism from certain Indian and Pakistani critics who doubted their accuracy.
Recent developments have vindicated Imran’s statements, as Sanjay Leela Bhansali himself confirmed considering various actors for his Netflix series, including Imran. Sanjay elucidated that he had contemplated casting Rekha, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Rani Mukerji, and even Mahira Khan, Fawad Khan, and Imran Abbas. Imran expressed gratitude towards Bhansali for clarifying the situation and encouraged sceptics to verify his claims with other directors he mentioned.
Imran lamented the lack of trust and the labelling of him as dishonest or boastful. He highlighted the narrow perspectives of some individuals, emphasising their detachment from the diverse experiences of others.
He also expressed dismay at the tendency of some to disparage their celebrities, citing disrespectful remarks from certain YouTubers and journalists lacking credibility even within the Bollywood industry.
