ABU DHABI: The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) has announced the Abu Dhabi Scholarships for 2023.
These scholarships are aimed to provide exceptional Emirati students with access to a variety of higher education opportunities by giving them a chance to attend the best universities in the world.
Additionally, ADEK has added 30 additional degrees to the scholarship programme, such as journalism, landscape architecture, entrepreneurship and innovation, music and performing arts, computer game creation, culinary arts, and UX design. A total of 82 disciplines, including both elite and creative majors, are covered by ADEK scholarships.
Eligibility criteria for scholarships
In elite majors, students of Grade 12, age 13, with a 90% or more average in first term exams, and students with an 85% or more average in Grade 11, age 12, are eligible for this scholarship.
In creative majors, students of grade 12 with 85% or more average and with age 13 are eligible. A portfolio and two letters of recommendation are needed.
The student must have a minimum GPA of 3 or equivalent and at the time of the application must have completed at least 30 credit hours along with meeting the following general requirements: 6 IELTS score or 60 TOEFL iBT, unconditional admission offers to one of ADEK’s approved top 150 universities worldwide, current university students aged 24 or younger, and specializing in one of the approved majors at ADEK’s top 150 universities.
Fast track scholarship criteria
Fast-track scholarships are available to students accepted by the 20 universities that ADEK has approved, bypassing the application process and shortlisting candidates right away.

Deadline
The last date to apply for Abu Dhabi’s scholarships is 31 March 2023.
