ABU DHABI: A record-breaking gathering of judo athletes is set to showcase their skills at the Abu Dhabi World Championships Seniors 2024.

From May 19-24, the Mubadala Arena will witness the culmination of meticulous planning by the International Judo Federation and the UAE Judo Federation. With 682 athletes representing 110 countries, this week-long event promises fierce competition across seven weight categories for both men and women, all competing for a share of the impressive €1 million prize.

Among the favorites are the UAE national team, alongside powerhouse contenders from France, Japan, Brazil, Canada, and other nations. Adding to the excitement, legendary judoka Teddy Riner will grace the mats, aiming to continue his storied legacy.

The championships will not only celebrate current champions but also herald the emergence of new stars in the judo world.
