ISLAMABAD: Karachi Kings’ speedster Aamir Jamal has found himself in a bit of a spot after being docked five per cent of his match fee for a Level 1 code of conduct violation during HBL PSL X showdown with Peshawar Zalmi at the National Bank Stadium on Monday night.

The flashpoint came in the 15th over of the first innings, when Aamir, having sent Zalmi batter Hussain packing, couldn’t resist the urge to add some spice to the moment.

He walked up close to the departing batter and let loose a comment that crossed the line.

Level 1 violation

The act was deemed a Level 1 violation under Article 2.5 of the PSL rulebook, which prohibits language or gestures that could be seen as provocative or disrespectful to a dismissed batter.

Showing no signs of protest, Aamir owned up to the charge and accepted the penalty without contest. Match referee Iftikhar Ahmed confirmed the sanction, while the charge was levelled by on-field umpires Faisal Khan Afridi and Paul Reiffel.

Passion may run high in the PSL, but the rulebook is there to keep emotions from boiling over.

The thriller

Karachi Kings pulled off a dramatic two-wicket win over Peshawar Zalmi in the 11th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10, sealing the contest in the final over to cap off their home leg with a thrilling victory at the National Bank Stadium on Monday.

Chasing a modest target of 148, the Karachi Kings stumbled early against a fiery new-ball spell from Peshawar Zalmi pacer Luke Wood.

However, Australian veteran David Warner anchored the innings with a crucial half-century, scoring 60 runs to keep the hosts in the hunt.

Khushdil Shah then played a vital supporting role, steadying the innings with a composed 23 before guiding the chase into the final over.

With nine runs needed off six balls, Khushdil struck a crucial boundary off the first delivery, and Hasan Ali finished the job with a pulled four, sparking celebrations among the Karachi crowd.
