A tragic tale of bitter relations started between Pakistan and India after the partition of the Indian sub-continent, and after day one till date, the relations between Pakistan and India did not develop. The cause root of the tension of bloodshed started at that time when millions of Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs from both sides were crossing the border, no one was aware of what was going on, but from both sides thousands of human beings were killed like animals in a slaughter house. Since that time, India- Pakistan could not become friends, and the two nations became rivals.
Pakistan and India share a critical relationship. In addition to several limited border clashes, they have fought three major wars since 1947, however, they have also a history of joint efforts for resolving differences and clashes through peaceful means.
In fact after every major conflict, they sat down for talks. After partition the differences between the two countries were no so good and ultimately it led to war and in the month of May 1948, Pakistan sent to its troops to Kashmir, but however the UN took a positive step and war between and Pakistan stopped.
However, once again, the Kashmir issue was still there, the second war started in 1965 between the two nations. However, the brave soldiers of Pakistan fought like lions and they won that war of 1965. Once again, after the 1965 war, the two nations led towards another war of 1971 and this war was because of the elections of 1970. Kashmir issue dominated Pakistan and India relations in 1990s. Pakistan blamed India for the violation of human rights in Kashmir and India raised its voice on the international forum that Pakistan has sent the Jihaddi Groups to Kashmir; slowly and gradually again, the tension aroused between the two countries and we saw the War of Kargil in 1999.
Meanwhile the unrest in Kashmir was increasing day by day, because the Kashmiris people wanted freedom, they were completely under the grip of Indian government and Pakistan’s stance was that Kashmiris should be given their due rights.
Though Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee had visited Lahore and that was a positive initiative to stop the war between the two countries but as I have mentioned that after a space of three months again the Kargil War was started between the two neighbor countries.
From time to time, harsh statements were exchanged between the heads and on diplomatic level as well. Another sad episode was happened at that time, when the Indian Parliamentarians were discussing the report about the corruption in purchasing the weapons and the said corruption had done by its ministers during the Kargil war, when an attack was launched and Indian PM Atal Bihar Vajpayee called it a warning of war and once again the little bit repaired relations was once again disturbed because of the said attack.
Atal Bihari Vajpaee, said we accept the challenge and as India has a habit of blame game, The Indian PM said that it’s because of the Pakistani trained militants, which they called the Taliban. Yet Pakistan had also prepared itself for the reply but and the Armed Forces were fully ready in case of any attack from the Indian side.
For the time being the Indian government became silent, because they were fully aware from the repercussions. For the time being the relations between the two countries, one can say was not good but was not too bad. In 2008, around 10, militants attacked on Mumbai’s famous hotel and that attack further damaged the relations between the two countries.
Though all the attackers were killed except one Ajmal Qasab, which the Indian linked with the banned Organization in Pakistan. New Delhi suspended the composite dialogue. The bilateral relations have not recovered from the Mumbai attack to date. As the Indian government is famous for propaganda and false allegations, they had not any proof to prove that. In 2019 again the relations between the two countries became worse at that time, when Indian government said that an attack had done on its soldiers in Kashmir, because some Pakistani Militants were involved.
Both the countries were literally at the verge of war and surgical strikes started from both side, as a result Indian plane was hit by the best Pakistani Pilot and Wing Commander Abhi Nandan was captured alive, which later on was handover by Pakistani government to India. The entire world applauded and appreciated the best effort of Pakistan.
The war was stopped between the two countries as the US and some other countries played a role of negotiator. Recently Pakistani Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has visited India to participate in the SCO, meeting.
