ALGIERS: A collision between a truck and a bus in the northern Algerian province of Djelf claimed the lives of at least six people, with nine others sustaining injuries. Algeria’s Civil Protection Authority confirmed this tragic incident on Friday.
Immediate response teams, which included ambulances and rescue units, swiftly arrived at the scene near Ain Oussara City following the accident. The injured individuals have been transported to nearby medical facilities for necessary treatment.
Algeria’s Civil Protection Authority statement did not provide further details regarding the causes of the accident.

According to Algeria’s National Center for Prevention and Road Safety, 90 percent of road accidents in the country result from human errors, primarily driver negligence. Other contributing factors to road accidents include subpar road conditions, vehicle maintenance issues, and environmental elements.
