Shoygu noted that the US is trying to create imbalance of power in the region as it is looking for supplies of dangerous weapons for Ukraine from its allies.

He warned the US and its allies are trying to turn Ukraine and western parts of Europe into a battlefield by investing in Ukraine. He said such moves will further escalate the situation in Ukraine.

Western states to invest in Ukraine a significant part of available resources in order to turn the situation on the battlefield in its favor creates serious risks of further escalation of the conflict,” he warned.

The minister during the meeting said NATO’s membership of Finland and Sweden is a destabilizing factor. He noted that Military troops of NATO to be deployed on Finnish territory could target important objects in Russia’s northwest.

He said NATO has the presence of 360,000 troops, 8,000 armored vehicles, 6,000 artillery system, and 650 fighter jets and helicopters near the borders of Russia and Belarus.

The top Russian diplomat warned that Poland wants to form a joint Polish-Ukrainian force to occupy Western Ukraine.

The minister said the US has weaponized Poland and converted the country as a main tool of anti-Russian policy.

Shoygu added that Warsaw’s plans to form the most powerful army in the region pose a serious danger to Russia’s interests.
