JEDDAH: The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hissein Brahim Taha, has conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in the wake of a devastating passenger train accident that occurred on August 6, 2023.
The tragic incident, which took place near Nawabshah between Karachi and Rawalpindi, claimed the lives of 30 passengers and left approximately 100 others severely injured.
Expressing profound sympathy and solidarity, Secretary-General Taha extended his sympathies to the government and the people of Pakistan during this challenging time. He conveyed his condolences particularly to the bereaved families who have been directly impacted by the unfortunate train crash.
OIC Secretary-General Prays for Victims
The OIC Secretary-General also offered prayers and well wishes for the swift and complete recovery of all those who sustained injuries as a result of the accident. The accident has prompted a deep sense of empathy from the OIC, further highlighting the importance of international support and unity during times of tragedy.
