ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s exports of pharmaceutical products witnessed an increase of 21.98% during the financial year (2022-23) as compared to the same period last year.
Pakistan exported pharmaceutical products worth 328.208 million dollars during the period from July to June (2022-23) as compared to the export of 269.070 million dollars during July to June (2021-22), registering a growth of 21.98%, according to the latest data released by Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
In terms of quantity, the export of pharmaceutical products also increased by 85.62% from 29,593 metric tons to 54,929 metric tons, the data showed.
Exports on YoY Basis
Meanwhile, on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, the exports of pharmaceutical goods fell by 9.98% during June 2023 as compared to the corresponding month of last year.
The pharmaceutical exports in June this year were recorded at 21.9124 million dollars against the export of 24.345 million dollars in June 2022, the PBS data showed.
On a month-on-month (MoM) basis, the exports of pharmaceutical items also declined by 8.92% in June this year as compared to 24.060 million dollars in May 2023.
