Priests, nuns, pilgrims and tourists alike brave Rome’s sweltering heat for a glimpse of Pope Francis, with temperatures likely to hit 40C in the Italian capital by Monday and 42C-43C on Tuesday, smashing the record of 40.5C set in August 2007. “We’re finding it hard to get used to it, especially as we’ve only just arrived, and we’ve realised that it’s hotter here it is at home in Africa,” François Mbemba, a priest visiting from the Democratic Republic of the Congo tells AFP.
