PM Shehbaz Meets Nawaz in London Today for Crucial Election Discussions

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to United Kingdom (UK) to meet his elder brother and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in London today (Friday).

According to the sources within the PML-N, the prime minister will head to London after concluding his visit to France, where he spent three days.

During his stay, according to the sources, he will engage in meetings with PML-N supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to discuss matters pertaining to the upcoming general elections in the country.

The ruling alliance is in a dilemma over if the national assembly be dissolved before its expiry to gain one month more time to hold the elections or let it be held within the 60-day time period.

Senior party leadership will also participate in the consultative meetings through video link, ensuring comprehensive discussions on important issues.

Sources further said that the anticipated meeting between the two brothers is expected to encompass multiple issues as general elections, cases against them and the future line of action.

The discussions during the meeting will also cover potential seat adjustments with allied political parties, as well as other significant issues of mutual concern.
