RIYADH: The warring parties in Sudan have agreed to a 72-hour truce beginning on June 18, a statement from the United States (US) and Saudi Arabia said on Saturday.
In a statement via Twitter, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) and the United States (USA) announced that warring parties in Sudan agreed to a 72-hour truce across Sudan.

The statement said the two sides agreed they would refrain from attacks and use army aircraft during the truce. The warring parties would also permit the delivery of humanitarian assistance across the country.
