JEDDAH: In preparation for the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, Saudi officials recently gathered to discuss crowd-management strategies and address other crucial matters.
Abdulaziz bin Ali Al-Ayoubi, Assistant President for Technical and Field Service Affairs of the General Presidency of the Two Holy Mosques, presided over the meeting with leaders from relevant agencies.
Al-Ayoubi emphasized the importance of ensuring a smooth flow of pilgrims to prayer areas, particularly within the Grand Mosque and its courtyards. To combat the intense heat experienced during the rituals, he revealed that the presidency would deploy special spray fans to cool the pilgrims.
Preparations for Hajj Pilgrimage
During the meeting, Al-Ayoubi called upon the officials to collaborate closely, ensuring that all equipment had spare parts readily available for emergency repairs.
He also emphasized the necessity of conducting regular inspections to maintain the optimal functioning of the facilities.
Highlighting the significance of sufficient manpower, Al-Ayoubi urged officials to ensure an adequate number of contracted workers are in place for the duration of the Hajj period.
As the Hajj pilgrimage draws nearer, Saudi Arabia is taking proactive measures to enhance crowd management and provide optimal conditions for the millions of pilgrims expected to participate in the sacred event.
