Pakistani Rupee Gains 12 Paisas Against US Dollar Amid Political Unrest

ISLAMABAD: Despite political and financial unrest, the Pakistani rupee gained slight strength of 12 paisas against the American Dollar in the interbank trading on Monday and closed at Rs 284.96 compared to Rs 285.08 the previous day.

A couple of days back, the US dollar reached its record high of Rs 299 in the interbank while the open market crossed the 300 benchmarks.

As per reports by the Forex Association of Pakistan, the buying and selling rates of the Greenback in the open market were recorded at Rs 293 and Rs 297, respectively.

Pakistani Rupee Against Euro, Yen, Riyal, and Others

Like the US dollar, other international currencies also recorded a downward trend against the local currency. Euro witnessed a decrease by Rs 1.23 to close at Rs309.72 compared to the last previous day’s closing of Rs310.95, according to SBP.

The Japanese Yen witnessed a decline by 02 paisas to close at Rs 2.09, while the British Pound experienced a decrease of Rs1.2 in the exchange rate and was available in the market at Rs355.76 as compared to its last day’s closing of Rs356.96.

The exchange rate of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal depreciated slightly by 03 paisas each to close at Rs77.60 and Rs75.98, respectively.
