ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has finally left the Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) premises for his Zaman Park house in Lahore. According to media reports, the former PM said, “he will maintain cordial relations with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir if he (Imran Khan) comes into power again”. He told the foreign media in front of the Islamabad High Court that “he did not think any negative thing about the country’s Chief of Army Staff”. He promised to maintain cordial relations with Pakistan’s Army Chief “if he (Imran Khan) comes into power.”

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan also issued directives to workers to remain calm and peaceful, adding that he wants to leave for Lahore, local media reported on Friday.
Earlier, a two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted two weeks protective bail to Imran Khan in the Al-Qadir Trust case. The court also granted bail to Imran Khan in all other cases registered against him.
The court issued the directives that PTI chief Imran Khan should not be arrested in any case until May 17. The IHC also issued the directives that the authorities concerned ensure the security of former PM Imran Khan. The IHC also asked PTI chief to denounce all the happenings that ensued his arrest.
IHC judges Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb and Justice Saman Raffat Imtiaz heard the case. Imran Khan’s lawyer Khawaja Harris presented arguments in the case. Khawaja Harris took the stand that Imran Khan was arrested while filing the bail application in the court. He added the NAB’s inquiry report was not received by his client Imran Khan and the NAB’s verdict to convert an inquiry into a probe was leaders from newspapers.
He said that the NAB had been requested to provide the inquiry. After the new NAB amendment, warrants can be issued only in the investigation and on the persistent non-appearance of the accused.
Khawaja Harris argued that the NAB converted the inquiry into an investigation but did not provide the inquiry report to his client. “We fear Imran Khan would be arrested immediately by changing the inquiry into an investigation after he leaves the court.
After hearing the case, the Islamabad High Court bench granted the two-week interim bail to former PM Imran Khan.
