ISLAMABAD: The British Security Agency Department for Transport will visit Pakistan on 30 May to conduct security audits of the country’s 3 major airports.
Under the British Security assessment program, the security of 3 major international airports in Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore would be scrutinized. According to media reports, the Civil Aviation Authority has completed the necessary arrangements for the visit.
The British delegation would audit various departments, including airport security forces, ground handling, and flight kitchens. The airport managers would brief the delegation about their respective airports.
Security checking
The purpose of the visit is to check the security of direct flights from Lahore, Islamabad, and Karachi to the UK. The delegation would monitor the transfer of luggage on the aircraft and screening of passengers’ belongings and other security equipment.
The Civil Aviation said that the delegation was scheduled to visit Pakistan on 10 July, but it would arrive in Pakistan on 30 May after a change in the date.
