The differences between Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) seemingly intensify, former President Asif Ali Zardari — also the co-chairman of the party — denied any possibility of contesting the next elections in union with ruling coalition.
Addressing a press conference in Vehari, Southern part of Punjab, the party co-chairman made it evidently clear that the PPP would take part in the next elections with the “arrow” symbol and not as an alliance with the PDM.
“We are not a segment of the PDM, though we are PDM partners in the government,” the PPP stalwart stated ahead of the general polls in Punjab — which are announced to be held on coming April 30.
The PPP is seemingly at parting ways with the PDM-led government over handeling of governance and economic issues as the country is going through the historic inflation and price hike couple with the damage caused by cataclysmic floods.

Zardari also denied any talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan and stated that the former prime minister is not even a politician.
In response to a question regarding the police’s efforts to arrest the PTI chief and whether he was asked, Zardari said: “It is the Prerogative of the interior minister… why would he should consult me?”
Khan has been evading arrest attempts by law enforcement organizations and is now allegedly facing charges of money laundering and illegally selling official Toshakhana gifts during his regime as prime minister. However, despite the legal issues, the PTI leadership remains undeterred and is keen to showcase its strength in Lahore in what it termed as a “historic public rally” to be held this Wednesday.
