ISLAMABAD: New Zealand’s envoy to Turkey, Zoe Coulson-Sinclair, while talking about Turkiye’s Asia Anew initiative, has said that her country is willing to share experience regarding diplomatic expansion with Ankara.
Coulson-Sinclair, was talking to Turkish media, and she made these comments as New Zealand set to fete its national day, commonly called Waitangi Day.
Waitangi is a small village in northern New Zealand, where people of all communities and backgrounds gather to observe the first signing of the country’s founding document.
The document is the Treaty of Waitangi or Te Tiriti o Waitangi. It was signed on February 6, 1840, between the native people of New Zealand and the British Crown.
New Zealand eyes Turkiye’s Asia Anew initiative for linkages with Pacific region
Coulson-Sinclair elaborated that her nation of around 5 million could provide a link between the Pacific region and Turkiye as New Zealand for certain Turkish companies which may be interested.
In 2019, Turkiye launched its Asia Anew initiative further boost its ties with Asia, which is becoming the globe’s economic focal region in multiple aspects.
Experts opine that the Asia Anew is a step towards reshaping Turkiye’s future diplomacy as a country that sits on two continents and it acts as a bridge between the East and the West.
