RIYADH: Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah on Thursday received a phone call from Yemen’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Dr. Afrah Al-Zouba, and discussed the latest developments in Yemen.

During the phone conversation, the foreign ministers reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the latest developments in Yemen, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

They also discussed the Houthi militia’s continued attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure, and efforts to support the Yemeni government in carrying out its duties to strengthen security and stability and ease the suffering of the Yemeni people, according to SPA.

Earlier this month, the Saudi Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom’s full support for Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, legitimate government and people.

Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud chaired the Cabinet session held in Riyadh, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

“Following its review of regional developments, the Cabinet affirmed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s full support for the Presidential Leadership Council, the legitimate government, and the brotherly Yemeni people, with the aim of ending the coup in this dear country and restoring the state and its institutions from the terrorist Houthi militia, which has chosen military escalation as an alternative approach to peace, further deepening the humanitarian and economic suffering of Yemen and its brotherly people, while continuing to threaten the region and maritime navigation in the southern Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait,” SPA stated.
