TORONTO: Pakistani actress and producer Mahira Khan represented Pakistan at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2026, highlighting the country’s growing presence in global cinema.

Mahira attended the festival as part of a Pakistani delegation and participated in red carpet screenings, industry discussions and networking sessions focused on expanding collaboration between Pakistani and international filmmakers.

TIFF 2026, which began on September 10, featured more than 270 films and welcomed thousands of industry professionals from over 80 countries.

Global Cinema Presence

Speaking during the festival, Mahira said representing Pakistan at TIFF was an honour and described the event as a platform for cultural exchange.

The actress attended the North American premiere of an independent South Asian feature film and participated in a panel discussion on “Women in South Asian Cinema”.
