RIYADH: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Albudaiwi has condemned the drone attack targeting Saudi Arabia’s East-West Pipeline in Riyadh and Madinah regions.
In a statement, Albudaiwi described the attack as a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable threat to Saudi Arabia’s security, territorial integrity and vital infrastructure.
He said the targeting of national facilities represents a violation of international law and called for efforts to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The GCC secretary-general expressed the bloc’s rejection of all actions aimed at undermining Saudi Arabia’s security, stability and national resources.
GCC Support Reaffirmed
Albudaiwi stressed the importance of the Iraqi government taking decisive measures to prevent its territory from being used as a launch point for attacks against Saudi Arabia and neighbouring countries.

He said stronger steps were needed to stop such incidents from recurring and to help maintain regional security and stability.
The GCC chief reaffirmed the council’s full support for Saudi Arabia and its right to take necessary measures to protect its territory, citizens, residents and critical facilities.
Regional Security Concerns
The condemnation follows an attack in which several drones launched from Iraq targeted the East-West Pipeline, causing injuries and material damage.
The East-West Pipeline is a major Saudi energy infrastructure project that transports crude oil across the Kingdom.
Any disruption or threat to such facilities has raised wider concerns about the security of critical energy assets in the region.
The GCC said continued cooperation and effective measures are essential to prevent further escalation and preserve stability across the Gulf region.
The council reiterated its commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s security and protecting vital infrastructure from threats.
