WASHINGTON: US President Donald Trump has rejected reports of declining defence supplies, saying the United States has “massive amounts” of munitions available as military operations linked to the ongoing war with Iran continue.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the US had significant reserves of ammunition, particularly of certain types, while production was also being expanded to meet future requirements.

“The US has massive amounts of ‘munitions,’ especially of certain types. Additionally, large amounts are being manufactured and shipped to the US as needed,” Trump wrote.
He claimed that defence companies were expanding their industrial capacity, saying they were building “the largest number of plants and factories in our country’s history” to strengthen domestic production.

Trump’s remarks came after reports raised concerns over the pace at which US military stockpiles were being used and the potential impact on defence readiness amid escalating tensions with Iran.
The president also issued a warning against officials accused of disclosing sensitive information about US military capabilities.
“The leakers” responsible for what he described as “treasonous statements” would be “hunted down”, Trump said, adding that “long-term jail sentences will be sought” against those found responsible.
The comments underline growing attention on America’s defence-industrial capacity as Washington faces increasing demands on its military resources amid heightened geopolitical tensions.
