DUBAI: Two tankers linked to Iran have been observed sailing eastward through the Strait of Hormuz ahead of the signing of a peace memorandum between the United States and Iran, expected to facilitate the reopening of the strategic shipping route.
According to Bloomberg, the fuel carriers were transiting the chokepoint with their Automatic Identification System (AIS) transponders switched on, based on ship-tracking data. One vessel, identified as Musik, was reported to be within the Strait of Hormuz, while the Argo Maris had already passed through and entered the Gulf of Oman.

The report further stated that Argo Maris remains within what is described as a US blockade line stretching from the easternmost point of Oman to the border area between Iran and Pakistan.
The movements come just ahead of the anticipated signing of an interim peace agreement between the United States and Iran aimed at easing tensions and reopening the critical maritime corridor for commercial shipping.
Pakistan will host the signing ceremony of a landmark peace agreement between the United States and Iran in Geneva on June 19, aimed at ending months of military confrontation.
