RIYADH: The Saudi Ministry of Defence on Monday dismissed reports circulating on social media about Prince Sultan Air Base in Al-Kharj Governorate.
“The activation of warning sirens in Al-Kharj Governorate early this morning was a precautionary measure following the launch of a ballistic missile from Yemen, which disappeared near the border,” Spokesperson of the Ministry Major General Turki Al-Malki said in a post on X.
He added that investigations are still underway to determine the details and circumstances of this launch.

Earlier, Iran announced that it was suspending military operations against Israel, while Israeli media reported that Israel had halted strikes on Iran at the request of US President Donald Trump after the US President said both sides were “looking to do an immediate ceasefire”.
The development came after Iran and Israel exchanged fresh attacks on Monday that threatened the ceasefire reached on April 8.
Throughout March, Saudi air forces intercepted and destroyed Iranian drones and missiles launched toward the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia, along with several Arab states, strongly condemned the strikes, describing them as reckless actions that threatened regional stability and security.
