RIYADH: Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the attack on a United Nations peacekeeping position in southern Lebanon that resulted in the death of one soldier and injured several others.
In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom expressed its condemnation and denunciation of the attack, describing it as an unacceptable act against international peacekeeping personnel.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its firm rejection of attacks targeting peacekeeping forces and stressed the importance of ensuring the safety and security of personnel serving under international mandates.
The Kingdom called for all those responsible for attacks against peacekeeping, relief and humanitarian workers to be held accountable in accordance with international law.
“The Kingdom reiterates its complete rejection of attacks on peacekeeping forces and calls for all perpetrators of attacks against peacekeeping, relief and humanitarian personnel to be held accountable,” the ministry said.
Saudi Arabia also extended its deepest condolences to the family of the soldier who lost his life in the attack and conveyed its wishes for the swift recovery of those injured.
The statement reflects the Kingdom’s continued support for international efforts aimed at maintaining peace, stability and security in conflict-affected regions.
The Kingdom reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of international cooperation and respect for institutions working to preserve peace and security around the world.
