Pakistan Army Chief Vows Continued Fight against Terrorism until “Enduring Peace” is Achieved across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, has reaffirmed that the fight against terrorist elements will continue with full national resolve until enduring peace is achieved across Pakistan.

He made these remarks while addressing the investiture ceremony held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where military honours were conferred upon officers, soldiers, and the families of shuhada (martyrs) in recognition of gallantry and distinguished services, the military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said in a statement on Thursday.

During the ceremony, Field Marshal Asim Munir lauded the sustained efforts of the Pakistan Army and Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) in counter-terrorism operations across the country.

He praised their operational preparedness, resilience, and unwavering commitment in confronting terrorist threats, stating that their continued efforts are vital for ensuring long-term national stability and security.

The Field Marshal reiterated that the armed forces, in close coordination with civil law enforcement institutions, remain firmly committed to eliminating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He stressed that this collective resolve would continue without interruption until peace and stability are fully established.

Earlier, a total of 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat were awarded during the investiture ceremony. Medals awarded posthumously were received with dignity and honour by the families of the shuhada.

Paying tribute to the martyrs and ghazis, the Field Marshal described them as the “enduring pride of the nation,” adding that their sacrifices represent a sacred trust for every citizen.

He also expressed deep admiration for the resilience, dignity, and steadfastness of the families of shuhada, acknowledging their unparalleled contribution to the homeland.

The ceremony concluded with recognition of officers and soldiers whose distinguished service and gallantry were formally honoured at GHQ.
