Meanwhile, the sources further stated that Digital Learning and Skills Enrichment Initiative (DLSEI) was an initiative from the HEC that intends to provide an opportunity the students and faculty members of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to attain Certifications from world-renowned universities, which would enhance their learning capabilities and skills for professional development.
Meanwhile, a verified certificate from a world-renowned online platform can serve as proof for an employer that someone is well-informed with cutting-edge tools and skills required for a competitive career ahead.
Innovation and technologies are influential ways to modify the skills workers need in today’s economy. It’s perceived that up to 85 million jobs are to be required by the year 2025 and the concerned governments are facing a significant talent gap to assist digital transformation efforts.
Moreover, providing online courses to all students through the world’s best online education provider would assist the students to provide in-demand skills and learning paths to the new job prospects for the entire workforce, with the content from global thought leaders and experience implementing competitive national learning programs.
Courses for Faculty and Students
The Higher Education Commission stressed upon the students, faculty members from the universities, and alumni of Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) to grab Certifications from world-renowned universities and educational institutions, in order to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the board. For this purpose, the Coursera initiative is one of the steps in this direction.
Moreover, it is strongly recommended that all HEIs may encourage and motivate faculty members from the universities to effectively utilize the courses available on Coursera and to qualify for at least one relevant course.
Similarly, capacity building through MOOCs is one of the easiest, simplest, and most affordable ways to strengthen the required skills that the students and faculty members require to stay abreast of the latest developments.
