SAN JOSE: Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang said on Monday that the company expects to generate at least $1 trillion in revenue by 2027, driven by rapidly growing demand for artificial intelligence technologies.

Huang shared the updated forecast during the opening of Nvidia’s annual developers conference in Silicon Valley, where he highlighted the company’s latest advancements in AI and computing.

“I see, through 2027, at least a trillion dollars in revenue,” Huang said, adding that demand for computing power could exceed current expectations.

The projection marks a significant increase from the estimate he provided a year earlier, when he forecast roughly half that amount.

The anticipated growth is expected to be fuelled by strong demand for Nvidia’s high-performance graphics processing units (GPUs), which are widely used in AI systems. Huang said these chips offer powerful capabilities while helping manage the cost of delivering AI services.

Latest technologies

He noted that demand for computing power has surged dramatically, increasing “a million-fold” over the past two years, with no signs of slowing.

During the event, Huang also showcased Nvidia’s latest technologies, including platforms designed to integrate AI into a wide range of applications such as robotics, software, and data centres.

The company is increasingly focusing on “agentic” AI systems, which can perform tasks independently, as well as on training and inference processes used to generate insights and content.

Huang said companies across the technology sector — from major firms to startups — are eager to expand their AI capabilities but are constrained by limited computing capacity.

He added that AI is set to transform industries ranging from automotive to healthcare, predicting it will evolve into a multi-trillion-dollar sector.
